There are more than 30 Air Conditioning Companies in Marion County. Students successfully completing the HVAC/R 1 program may be employed as HVAC Installers or Entry Level HVAC Technicians.
Students will earn several certifications including EPA 608 certifications prior to leaving school in order to be employed in any job that requires work with refrigerants. Students will also receive HVAC Excellence certifications (Air Conditioning, Electrical, and Electric Heat) and OSHA 10 demonstrating their preparedness to enter the HVAC field as HVAC technicians.

- Must have Florida Driver’s license.
- Be 18 years old or older to work (can be 18 years old by end of class)
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 90% student attendance
- Maintain at least 70% on all coursework
- Must possess a State of Florida Driver’s License
- Available Monday through Thursday evenings
- Must be 18 years old by the end of the program (licensing)
Students may need to take a Basic Skills Exam no later than the sixth week of class. This exam will not affect your acceptance into the program. Please submit all official transcripts (High School, GED, Associates degree or higher) prior to the start of your program start date for possible exemption. Students will be notified after they have been accepted into a program whether or not they will be required to take the exam.
