Department of Adult General Education
The purpose of the ESOL program is to assist immigrants and other individuals who are English language learners in improving their reading, writing, speaking, listening, and comprehension skills in English, mathematics skills and an understanding of the American system of Government, individual freedom, and the responsibilities of citizenship. In addition, the Adult ESOL program is designed to lead to the attainment of a secondary school diploma or its recognized equivalent; and transition to postsecondary education and training; or employment.*
