Counseling FAQ
Our academic and career counseling can help students select programs and career paths while also assisting them in developing the skills (i.e., time management, test anxiety management, study skills) needed to obtain these goals. Personal counseling assists students with their personal issues and circumstances in their lives, which may affect their goal achievement and satisfaction. We can assist in helping you to identify and practice new strategies to reduce the barriers to your progress. Our counselors is an experienced educator who will not judge or pressure you but are willing to work with you to achieve success.
We offer career advising to applicants and our current students. We also offer academic, emotional and crisis support for our currently enrolled students. Our counselor will assess your situation and make the necessary recommendations of services and/or referrals to outside agencies that we partner with.
We partner with multiple government support agencies and local professional services. some common agencies and services we partner with are:
- Access florida
- ELC
- Domestic violence shelters and programs
- The Centers (mental health facility)
We recommend making an appointment with our counselor to ensure you can be seen and there is time allotted to properly assess your situation.
