
Academic Skills Building (ASB) is a non-credit adult education program designed for students at NRS ABE Levels 5–6. The program helps students strengthen literacy and math skills so they can:
• Enter the job market
• Upskill for better employment opportunities
• Transition into postsecondary education

Morning: 8:00 am – 10:00 am
10:15 am – 12:15 pm
Afternoon: 12:45 pm – 3:15 pm
Evening: 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
7:05 pm – 8:05 pm
8:10 pm – 9:10 pm
$67.25 per term (includes $20 application fee)

Learn About The Academic Skills Building (ASB) Program
• Adults who already hold a high school diploma or equivalency but need additional academic preparation.
• Students who want to improve their math and literacy skills to succeed as workers, engaged citizens, and partners in their children’s education.
• Students in Integrated Education and Training (IET) or Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs may take ASB to strengthen their skills while completing workforce training.
- ASB includes two courses:
o ASB Math
o ASB Reasoning through Language Arts (RLA) - Students may enroll in one course or both, depending on their needs.
STEPS TO ENROLLMENT
- Step 1.
• Do not complete an online application if you are a former student OR have
completed an online application previously. (move to Step 3.)
• Complete your online application. (move to Step 2.) - Step 2.
• You will receive an email once your application is submitted please review
the attached forms in this email prior to coming in to the school. - Step 3.
• Come in to pay your fees & schedule TABE testing.
