This program, Database Development and Programming, will provide students with the foundation to pursue many different professional opportunities and add real value to their resumes to attract potential employers. Students will be trained in all aspects of software development from database design through development if the use interface to deployment and support of completed software. The program is designed to provide as much of a real-world experience as possible with multiple projects, individual and team assignments, deadlines and user testing. Students will design real and useful software that they can take with them and claim as accomplishments. Successful students will be prepared to test for the Microsoft Technology Associate certifications in Database Essentials and Software Development. These certifications will provide valuable evidence to prospective employers that the person has the skills to enter into a variety of I.T. roles. Advanced students will be able to go on to earn certifications including the Microsoft Certified Solutions Association (MCSA) in Database Development.
The content includes but is not limited to the fundamentals of programming and software development; procedural and object-oriented programming; creating regular and specialized application using standard and extended Structured Query Language (SQL), including testing, monitoring, debugging, documenting, and maintaining database applications.

CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION:
Students may earn a course certificate at the end of each course listed above upon successful completion of course requirements. Upon completion of all program requirements, student earn a Certificate of Completion in Database Application Development & Programming.
