Out of State Firefighters & DOD FF Equivalency 3/1 – 3/6/2019 (0951)
This course meets the requirements of 69A-37.055 Florida Administrative Code - Florida specific requirements for Out of State Firefighters or DOD Firefighters who desire to challenge the Florida Firefighter Minimum Standards Course Examination. This will be a 32 hour course with an additional 8 hours available for the field work for Forestry's S-130, S-190, L-180 for the students that do not have those classes. (Forestry's 32 hours for the above classes are available on-line) Structural Collapse Awareness (on-line), FEMA I-100 and I-700 must be done prior to the class and a copy of the successful completion handed in the first day. Statewide emergency response plan, thermal imaging, positive pressure ventilation, company evolutions, air monitoring, firefighter safety and survival and new challanges will be covered.
Hazardous Materials Technician Hybrid Course: 1/6 – 3/9/2020 (0950)
In this course, the student will gain understanding of what hazardous substances are and the risks associated with them in an incident. Students will learn and understand the potential outcomes associated with an emergency created when hazardous substances are present as well as the ability to recognize the presence of hazardous substances in an emergency. They will also learn the ability to identify the hazardous substances.. The student will have an understanding of the role of the First Responder Awareness individual in the employer`s Emergency Response Plan, including Site Security and Control and the U.S. Department of Transportation`s Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG).
USAR Structural Collapse Operations 1/21 – 1/24/2020 (0956)
Structural Collapse Level I is a course designed to train the rescuer operating in a collapsed building of light construction.
Firefighter Skills Refresher 1/31 – 2/2/19 (0946)
DESCRIPTION:This three day 24 hour course is designed for out of state Firefighters who are prepared to challenge the Florida Equivalency Exam or for those who failed their State Practical Exam and need a refresher before retaking it.
NOTE: THIS COURSE DOES NOT REVIEW IFSTA 6TH EDITION IN PREPARATION FOR THE WRITTEN TEST AT PEARSON VUE.
PREREQUISITES: Complete medical examination on State Form DFS-K4-1022. Must be dated within 1 year of your test date.
Rope Rescue Operations 1/13 – 1/17/2020 (0943)
Rope Rescue Level I (Operations) is a course designed to train rescuers in high and low angle rescue/recovery. This course meets and exceeds NFPA 1006 Chapters 5 & 6.1. The student will be trained on rescue knots, rope systems, anchor systems, raise/lower techniques, ascending rope, patient packaging, stoke basket operations, rappelling & rope theory. Emphasis will be placed on safety, raising, lowering, belay operations, and moving a victim in high/low angle environments.
This course is a pre-requisite for the remaining USAR/TRT courses
USAR Confined Space Ops/Tech 4/20 – 4/24/2020 (0957)
Confined Space Rescue Level I & II is a 40-hour course designed to train rescuers in all aspects of a confined space emergency, including rescue and recovery.
You MUST have a Rope Operations certification in order to register for this class.
