With the country’s increased reliance on machine-based production, it’s only natural that companies are going to need skilled, highly trained industrial mechanics to ensure assembly lines are in fully working order.
Marion Technical College offers a comprehensive program of study in Industrial Machinery Maintenance that can help catapult you ahead of the competition when it comes time to establish your career. Here’s how:
The Demand for Skilled Mechanics
Recent studies show that over the next decade, the employment of industrial machinery mechanics, machine technicians, and millwrights is expected to grow 18 percent.
The increase in demand means a better chance at a more fulfilling career, faster. Essentially, the more you learn about Industrial Machinery Maintenance from MTC, including welding and cutting operations, machinery installation and removal, conveyor maintenance, and machine shop operations, the more likely you’ll be considered by companies that need your skill set most.
Along with earning a certificate of completion of the Industrial Machinery Maintenance program, there are nationally recognized certifications you can earn from the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC), taking Certified Production Technician (CPT) exams, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) that can help increase your expertise and earning potential, with some salaries reaching nearly $80,000 a year.
One of the many benefits of getting an education though MTC is that the costs of any certification examinations needed to operate mechanical equipment are conveniently included in the program’s fees.
A Wealth of Career Options
In addition to our Industrial Machinery Maintenance program, Marion Technical College offers a wide variety of educational opportunities that can put you on the fast track to a better career, including Electronic Technology, Public Safety Telecommunications, Barbering, and Database Application.
Whether you’re choosing a career path or changing your focus to re-launch yourself as a valuable employee, gaining new industry skills is one of the best avenues towards success. The application deadline for all July/August 2017 MTC classes is April 6, 2017, or until classes are filled.
