CO-ENROLLMENT ELIGIBLE PROGRAMS

CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT

•  STUDENT MUST BE AT LEAST 1 MONTH FROM HIS/HER 18TH BIRTHDAY WHEN THE COURSE BEGINS.

•  STUDENT MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE.

•  STUDENT MUST BE NEAR 18 YEARS OF AGE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE REQUIRED EXTERNSHIP.

PHLEBOTOMY

•  STUDENT MUST BE CLOSE TO HIS/HER 18TH BIRTHDAY WHEN THE COURSE BEGINS.

WELDING

•  STUDENT MUST BEGIN THE COURSE PRIOR TO HIS/HER SENIOR YEAR.

•  STUDENT MUST BE 16 YEARS OF AGE TO QUALIFY FOR ENROLLMENT.


CO-ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES

  1. STUDENT CONTACTS MTC STUDENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT 352.671.4134 TO RECEIVE APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS AND TABE TEST SCHEDULING INFORMATION.
  2. STUDENT ATTENDS INFORMATION SESSION FOR CHOSEN PROGRAM.
  3. STUDENT SCHEDULES AND TAKES INITIAL TABE TEST. (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CNA)
  4. STUDENT DELIVERS COMPLETED PROGRAM APPLICATION, INCLUDING SUPPLEMENTAL CO-ENROLLMENT APPLICATION AND TRANSCRIPT, TO THE MTC STUDENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT*. THE APPLICATION MUST BE TURNED IN BY THE APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR THE CHOSEN PROGRAM.
  5. MTC STAFF MEMBER NOTIFIES THE HIGH SCHOOL GUIDANCE COUNSELOR OF THE BEGINNING DATES AND TIMES OF THE COURSE FOR ACCEPTED STUDENTS.
  6. ONCE THE STUDENT STARTS THE PROGRAM, THE LENGTH OF THE COURSE AND THE COMPETENCIES SATISFACTORILY COMPLETED WILL DETERMINE CREDIT(S) EARNED.
  7. UPON COMPLETION OF THE PROGRAM, MTC STUDENT SERVICES WILL FORWARD A CREDIT REPORT TO THE GUIDANCE COUNSELOR AT THE STUDENT’S HIGH SCHOOL FOR ENTRY INTO THE STUDENT’S TRANSCRIPT**.

* CO-ENROLLMENT APPLICANT MUST HAVE A 2.0 GPA, GOOD ATTENDANCE AND BEHAVIORAL RECORD FOR THE CHOSEN PROGRAM

** THE SPRING SEMESTER DOES NOT END UNTIL AFTER GRADUATION. CREDITS WILL NOT BE AWARDED UNTIL FULL COMPLETION OF THE SEMESTER FOR CHOSEN PROGRAM.
